Key Features

The general antiquarian printed holdings are extensive, reflecting the college's growth out of the dissenting academies in the north of England.  We hold approximately 7,000 pre-1800 volumes dating back to 1474. These holdings encompass the historical curriculum of the College and bears similarities to other Oxford colleges, with many items on:

  • Theology
  • Philosophy
  • Classical texts
  • Roman law
  • Church history

This library has been a core feature of the College since its inception in Warrington and has always been a well-used and circulated resource.
